The Enya carburetor is a metered airbleed. However I am not in agreement in regard to the main needle and idle circuit interference. I do agree that the midrange performance is slightly different using pressure vs. I use Enya 3 or Fox idle bar plugs only in my Enya 4C engines. 60 is pretty burbly off-idle, but it never quits. They run fine without pressure albeit requiring a fatter idle mixture (mainly the 60-4C). Is the airbleed hole clear? Are the metering grooves in the barrel clean? I have three Enya 4-cycles one I use a muffler and muffler pressure on (R1204C), the other two are 46-4C Mk I and 60-4C that I run without a muffler. WITH muffler pressure, at full throttle the main needle needs to be closed further due to the pressure, but at idle, this muffler pressure falls nearly completely to zero, and now the main needle still is a bit further closed.Įrgo, the idle mixture becomes a bit leaner, because the delivery curve of the carb has changed somewhat.
